Brain Drone
A drone controlled entirely by your brain waves!
Not only was this an incredibly fun project, but it represents a potential for an incredibly powerful creation. Essentially, we have built a general purpose BCI controller that can be connected to whatever we want!
RemBRAINdt
Despite the reality of COVID-19, in just a few summer months we remotely developed and submitted an art-generating BCI program (utilizing our new 16-channel OpenBCI) to the Russia-hosted Neurotech Cup 2020 and secured a position as finalists! On October 10th, 2020 we were awarded a People’s Choice Award!
Several original team members went on compete in NeuroNexus 2020 a provincial neurotechnology design competition, going on to win 1st place in the entrepreneurial stream along with $20,000
Now a spin-off company, RemBRAINdt continues to flourish with an official Beta launch to the public, scheduled for September 2021. You can keep up-to-date with the team on their LinkedIn here.

EEG Headset
The Muse headband is a popular commercial EEG, used to track the brain’s electrical activity, usually during sleep or meditation. We have access to several Muses, which are portable, accessible, and relatively easy to work with, perfect for starter neurotech projects. We also recently acquired a Muse S, a more advanced and powerful version of the Muse used for sleep tracking.
EEG Headset
OpenBCI headsets are among the most powerful and effective commercially available EEGs. With 16 channels, compared to the 4 found in the Muse, the tech allows us to access a more detailed view of brain activity. NAT now has two Ultracortex Mark IV Headsets, which have been used in both the Brain Drone and RemBraindt projects.
